ICT

Cambridge Primary School believes ICT is an exciting opportunity to help develop the children for the future. The children use learning platforms and technology which will help them develop their confidence with ICT, it will help develop their understanding of how the modern digital world is supported by ICT and coding algorithms.

At Cambridge Primary School, we nurture children to become self-sufficient with using ICT and prepare them for the digital world in which they live. We have four discreet blocks of computing learning per year group, however our approach is to integrate the use of ICT across the curriculum. The ICT curriculum is delivered through Kapow Primary Computing and has been systematically planned to help introduce new skills whilst consolidating previous learning in each year group. The ICT curriculum covers; Computer Science, Information Technology & Digital Literacy. Pupils will have the opportunity to develop the understanding of how and why ICT is used whilst developing key specific skills in each year group; the use of iPads and computers are as much part of our learning tools as pencils and paper. Children at Cambridge Primary School are able to express their thoughts, feelings and develop their creativity through the use of ICT.
